The Scissor Hand Transformation

The Jes Wade Scissor Hand collection was developed in our NYC design atelier in 2016 around a new concept of sustainable production practices.

The Scissor Hand collection is the sustainable practice of upcycling or "creative reuse."   We take ready-made luxury blank garments and transform them in the design atelier like we would any "raw" material.  These blank garments have been manufactured en masse and by using them we are cutting back on the unnecessary energy consumption and waste created when basic clothing is individually and separately produced.

We upcycle a blank garment by transforming it with scissors into a style with intricate details and attention to placement and proportion.  The resulting style keeps true to our luxury brand identity at a price point that is accessible e-commerce friendly.
